Meant to throw something up last night, but in my defense, I was distracted by "The Big Lebowski" and downloading WoW novels. Anyway.

So as you've seen, there's (finally) a new chapter of AS up, which is definitely a load off of my mind. This leaves us with four chapters left to go before the end. Sounds simple enough, right?

Wrong.

I'm faced with two... I don't want to say problems, but I can't really think of a better word. So problems it is.

Problem One: I lack inspiration. SO BADLY. My watchers with a flair with words, you know how it is. You get an idea, write it down, but when you go to expand it you are met with the brick wall of FAIL. After you stop the nosebleed, you try to overcome the wall. Can you go around it? Over it? Under? Hell, can you blow that fucker up? Nope. I have a couple ways of getting rid of that horrible brick wall: either to find some really amazing fanwork, or to find a song that really inspires me. So here's a mildly desperate cry for help from me to you, folks, and it's gonna get a paragraph all its own.

The next chapter is extremely TESS-centric (Haha spoiler? Maybe.). I'm looking for good fanworks (art, fiction, interpretive dance, what-have-you) of or focusing a great deal on her. Or songs. I'm a sucker for songs. Do you have a particular song that really makes you think of Tess? A song title and band name will do just fine. Sendspace would be awesome too. Shit, ANYTHING that makes you think of Tess would be just what I need. I'm sitting on almost 2700 songs of my own here and nothing's inspiring me, which is startling to say the least.

I really think that after this next chapter, the last three chapters will come easily. It's just getting past this fucking monstrous brick wall.

Problem Two: I am joining the Air Force.

Surprise!

Yeah yeah, I've been sitting on that bit of news since March-ish. Even now, it still seems like a pretty abstract idea, even after I've signed all the papers and got the T-shirt. (Oh yeah, there's a T-shirt. They went there.) Tomorrow I'm going down to L.A. to take a test to see if I qualify to be a Crypto Linguist (Cyber Warrior linguist thing. The website makes it impossible to summarize, but if it's as awesome as it sounds, hell yes.) That link also has a video that makes me laugh, if you're interested.

But the meat of the issue is that I could be deployed for Basic Training as soon as August. That's two solid months without Internet, electronics of any kind, even notebooks. (Weep for me now.) Following that, I'll go straight to tech school where, if I do manage to get a high enough score to be a linguist, I'll be placed in a "language immersion program" for up to fourteen months. AND THEN I'll be off on my first base, and who knows what that'll be like.

Then again, I've known dudes in all four branches and of all kinds of ranks who spend their spare time raiding on Warcraft, so I could in fact have a lot of time to write all kinds of nonsense. Fuck if I know. Ugh, what I'm trying to say is that I probably won't have AS finished by the time I deploy, and there's gonna be a serious chunk of time where I'll have zero me time.
